    Background:

    • Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe gastrointestinal emergency in premature infants.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the presence of carbohydrate intolerance in infants before the onset of advanced necrotizing enterocolitis.
