[Effect of cleaning and disinfection in poultry processing plants (author's transl)]

The use of agar print plates was found to be suitable for checking the results of several cleaning and disinfection systems. Some poultry processing plants were tested several times with agar prints, as a control of the results of the cleaning and disinfection program. It seems that cleaning exclusively with water leads to no reduction of micro-organisms, in spite of a reasonable visual effect. Cleaning with cleansers produces a small micro-biological reduction. Really sterile surfaces however were only observed when, after cleaning with cleansers, disinfection was employed.
