Mania and bromism: a case report and a look to the future
The American Journal of Psychiatry
|February 1, 1976
Abstract:
Mania has not been reported as a manifestation of bromism. This paper describes a manic patient who had an elevated serum bromide level. The author suggests that the possibility of bromide-induced mania should be considered when patients who manifest manic symptoms are evaluated. The implications of the bromide-mania relationship for a better understanding of manic-depressive illness are also discussed.
