Regular use of short-acting beta-2 agonists in stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) improves lung function and reduces breathlessness. Patients show a strong preference for these bronchodilators over placebo, with fewer dropouts, though long-term side effects require further study.
