    Summary

    Excessively prolonged prothrombin times during warfarin therapy can cause knee joint bleeding (hemarthrosis). Symptoms often resolve only after reducing or stopping warfarin, with no long-term joint damage observed.

    • Reducing anticoagulation is key to resolving symptomatic hemarthrosis.
    • No long-term joint damage was noted in this small cohort.
