Audiovestibular manifestations in giant cell arteritis: a prospective study

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) frequently causes audiovestibular issues, including vestibular dysfunction and hearing loss. Prompt corticosteroid treatment can reverse some GCA-related audiovestibular damage, improving patient outcomes.

- Early corticosteroid therapy appears to reverse a significant portion of GCA-associated audiovestibular dysfunction.
- While vestibular symptoms show good reversibility, hearing improvement may be less consistent in GCA patients.
