Background:

  • Critical limb ischemia (CLI) is characterized by impaired endothelial function and elevated levels of soluble adhesion molecules.
  • Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) is known to alleviate CLI symptoms, but its precise mechanism on endothelial function requires further elucidation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the effects of Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) on endothelial function, specifically brachial artery flow-mediated vasodilation (FMV).
  • To assess the impact of PGE1 on plasma levels of soluble adhesion molecules, including vascular adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1) and intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) in CLI patients.
