Abstract
Objectives:
To perform an update on the issue of detrusor overactivity, its incidence and treatment.
Methods:
We developed this article combining the most recent publications about current knowledge and concepts on detrusor overactivity, our own experience and the database from the Hospital Ramón y Cajal Urodynamics Unit.
Results/Conclusions:
Detrusor overactivity is a high incidence entity resulting from different pathologies that alter detrusor muscle function and control mechanisms. Currently, there are various treatment options that permit us to treat this entity with very good results.
