Summary

Gene polymorphisms in Uighur patients with Abnormal Savda were investigated using arbitrarily primed PCR (AP-PCR). Specific DNA fragments were identified, suggesting potential for molecular diagnosis of Abnormal Savda.

Area of Science:

  • Genetics
  • Molecular Biology

Context:

  • Abnormal Savda is a condition affecting Uighur patients.
  • Genetic variations may play a role in the pathophysiology of Abnormal Savda.

Purpose:

  • To investigate gene polymorphisms in Uighur patients with Abnormal Savda using arbitrarily primed PCR (AP-PCR).

Summary:

  • Arbitrarily primed PCR (AP-PCR) was employed to analyze DNA from 116 Uighur patients with Abnormal Savda and 50 controls.
  • Out of 42 fragments analyzed, 27 (64.2%) showed no polymorphism, while 6 AP-PCR products in the 220-344 bp region exhibited individual specificity.

Impact:

  • The identified DNA polymorphisms could serve as molecular markers for the diagnosis of Abnormal Savda.
  • This research contributes to understanding the genetic basis of Abnormal Savda in the Uighur population.
