Abstract:
Electromyography is a valuable tool in the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders. In this study, detailed electrophysiological studies were performed on all recent traumatic quadriplegic and paraplegic patients admitted to a spinal cord unit. The data obtained supplemented the clinical information in the assessment of individual patients. Certain patterns of abnormalities emerged, and attempts were made to relate these patterns to the pathology of the various lesions.
