Summary

Carbon monoxide intoxication did not impair memory functions in selected patients. Memory and attention were even better in poisoned individuals compared to controls one month post-intoxication.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate various memory functions in individuals after carbon monoxide intoxication.
  • To assess potential cognitive deficits and improvements post-CO exposure.

  • A prospective study compared 32 CO-intoxicated patients (CO level ≥ 1.0 mmol/l) with 32 matched controls one month after treatment.
