Summary

Yeast ndt80 mutants arrest in pachytene, forming large polycomplexes instead of synaptonemal complexes (SCs) within intact nuclei. These polycomplexes bind chromosomes, suggesting a role in chromosome pairing and synapsis during meiosis.
