A rare osteosarcoma of the skull bone presented as a painless lump. Complete surgical removal offers the best outcome for this bone cancer, with recurrence being the main risk.

Background:

Observation:

  • A 20-year-old male presented with a rapidly enlarging, painless osteosarcoma in the right parieto-occipital bone.
  • Initial neuroimaging suggested an intraosseous meningioma due to its appearance.
  • Gross total resection of the tumor was successfully performed.

Findings:

  • Histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteosarcoma.
  • Craniofacial osteosarcomas generally have a better prognosis than those in other skeletal locations.
