[Possibilities of the use of electron microscopy in forensic medicine]

Author deals with possibilities of application of scanning electron microscopy in the medico-legal practice. After a short review of the literature methodological problems are discussed and the author's experiences are reported. Author have investigated various injuries of hair, bonetissue, and skin specimens. It was established that they reveal characteristic changes which can be easily observed by scanning-electron-microscope. Various injuries of hair-cutting, tearing, breakage, burning etc.-have distinguishable characteristics. Scanning electron microscopy is suitable for the study of vital and postmortal injuries.
