Decreased vitamin D receptor (VDR) and calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) expression in parathyroid adenomas correlates with increased cell proliferation and disease severity in primary hyperparathyroidism. These findings suggest a role for VDR and CaSR in regulating parathyroid cell growth.
