Parkinsonian syndrome and calcium channel blockers

(1) Parkinsonian syndromes have occasionally been attributed to diltiazem, a calcium channel blocker, sometimes with a positive rechallenge. (2) Verapamil and amlodipine have also been implicated. (3) Prescribers should be aware of the possible role of these drugs in patients presenting with a parkinsonian syndrome.
