Summary

Pars plana vitrectomy improved vision and reduced inflammation in Behçet patients with dense vitreous opacities. This surgical intervention offers a beneficial effect on visual prognosis for those unresponsive to medical treatment.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy in Behçet's disease patients.
  • To evaluate the impact of vitrectomy on intraocular inflammation frequency.
  • To determine the effect on visual prognosis in patients with dense vitreous opacities.

  • Retrospective analysis of nine Behçet's disease patients undergoing pars plana vitrectomy for vitreous opacification.
