Abstract:
We report a case of severe acute cytomegalovirus hepatitis in patient with chronic hepatitis B. Differential diagnostics is presented and possible impact of CMV infection on chronic hepatitis B is analyzed. CMV superinfection or reactivation in a patient with HBV infection may be one of the causes of the exacerbation of chronic liver disease.
