Abstract:
An NHS Direct centre provided the facilities for nurses to undergo telephone supervision as a way to meet their professional development requirements and carry out structured reflection on their practice. The process is backed by a dedicated database. To some extent the methods mirrored those used in contacts with patients. This paper looks at the lessons and potential of this pilot.
