Summary

Cluster headache (CH) attacks in some patients may be triggered by sleep apnoea (SA)-related oxygen desaturation. Continuous positive airway pressure treatment improved SA and reduced CH attacks.

  • Nocturnal polysomnography was performed on 16 patients with episodic CH and 29 healthy volunteers.
  • Sleep apnoea (SA) was diagnosed in patients experiencing CH attacks.
