Background:

  • Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is a frequent malignancy in patients with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
  • AIDS-related NHL can manifest systemically, in the central nervous system, or as body cavity-based lymphomas (BCBL).

Observation:

  • Body cavity-based lymphomas (BCBL) are characterized by the presence of effusions in the pleural, pericardial, and/or peritoneal spaces.
  • Radiologic imaging is essential for identifying the characteristic fluid accumulations associated with BCBL.

Findings:

  • This report presents imaging findings of a case of BCBL.
  • The case illustrates simultaneous pericardial, pleural, and peritoneal effusions.

Implications:

  • Radiologic imaging is vital for the diagnosis and differentiation of AIDS-related NHL subtypes, particularly BCBL.
  • Accurate diagnosis through imaging can guide appropriate patient management and treatment strategies for this aggressive lymphoma.
