[Dental journals in Transylvania published fully or partially in Hungarian, between 1919 and 1940]

Abstract:
Between the two world wars several medical journals were published in Transylvania for shorter or longer periods of time fully or partly in Hungarian language. Only dentistry had its own periodicals, two for dentists (Revista Stomatologica--Stomatologiai Szemle 1823-1940, Stomatologia 1929-1937) and one for dental technicians (Viata Dentara--Dentistisches Fachblatt--Fogászati Szaklap 1934). Because of the difficulties in their accessibility little or inaccurate data have been published so far on these journals. It is the main goal of the present paper to give an overview on these journals, which are very valuable not just for their professional merits but also for their historic value.

The Crown, Neck, and Root
The visible part of the tooth is referred to as the crown. It's covered by enamel, the hardest substance in the human body. The crown is uniquely shaped for each type of tooth, allowing for different functions such as cutting, tearing, or grinding food.
