Glial fibrillary tangles (GFT) in diffuse neurofibrillary tangles with calcification (DNTC) were identified in astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. These GFT, particularly in temporal and limbic lobes, show distinct tau and ubiquitin immunoreactivity.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the occurrence and distribution of glial fibrillary tangles (GFT) in diffuse neurofibrillary tangles with calcification (DNTC).
  • To classify GFT morphologically and examine their immunoreactivity for tau and ubiquitin.
