[The patient with incurable cancer and palliative medicine in Mexico]

This paper analyzes the potential advantages of palliative care for cancer patients in Mexico. The increasing incidence of cancer, the limited rate of cure of the most frequent cancers and limited resources make palliative care a realistic treatment option. In accordance to World Health Organization recommendations, I propose the development of palliative care in Mexico.
