Cockroach allergens can trigger asthma in children. Bronchial challenges with Blatella germanica (Bg) allergens caused significant FEV1 decline in allergic children, suggesting a link to childhood asthma.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the impact of Blatella germanica (Bg) allergen bronchoprovocation on FEV1 in children with allergic respiratory conditions.
  • To compare the effects of Bg allergen challenge versus placebo on respiratory function.

  • A prospective study involving 25 children (8-16 years) with allergic rhinitis/asthma and specific IgE to Bg.
