Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate if rigid immobilization devices enhance prostate irradiation accuracy and reproducibility.
  • To determine the clinical utility of rigid immobilization in radiation therapy.

  • 100 patients with prostate or bladder cancer were randomized to receive radiation with or without rigid immobilization (RI).
  • Customized pelvic casts and stabilizing devices were used for the RI group.
