Observation:

  • A renal transplant recipient on prednisone, cyclosporine, and sirolimus developed ascites, diarrhea, and weight loss.
  • Biopsy confirmed primary T-cell lymphoma.
  • Epstein-Barr virus was detected via in-situ hybridization for Epstein-Barr-encoded RNA.

Findings:

  • This is the sixth reported case of primary intestinal posttransplant T-cell lymphoma.
  • This is the first documented case associated with sirolimus treatment.

Implications:
