Abstract:
A case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is presented with a restrictive mitral filling pattern but predominant systolic pulmonary vein flow velocities. A stepwise Doppler work-up including color M-mode, Doppler tissue imaging of the mitral annulus velocity and loading manipulations could clarify the underlying hemodynamic mechanisms. The Doppler data were correlated with invasive measurements.
