Summary
The 4G/4G genotype of plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) may protect against atherothrombotic cerebral infarction (ACI). Factor V and factor VII gene variations were not found to be risk factors for ACI in this study.

- Further research may be warranted to explore other genetic and environmental factors contributing to ACI risk.
