A surgical needle, an unusual foreign body, was found in a patient's eye after magnetic resonance imaging. Plain X-rays before MRI may help detect such retained surgical instruments.

  • Pre-procedural plain X-rays are recommended for patients with a history of surgery before undergoing MRI.
  • This case highlights the importance of identifying metallic foreign bodies to prevent complications like ocular siderosis.
