[Operative treatment of clavicle fractures in children]

Abstract:
We studied retrospectively, 23 fractures of the clavicle in children treated by K-wire stabilization between 1999 and 2001. We performed open reduction in 22 children. In one child percutaneous pinning was possible. The anatomical reduction was achieved in all cases. The postoperative course was uneventful in all cases, we didn't notice any infectious complication. The irritation of skin above the protruding end of pin was the only complaint. The pins were removed after 2-4 months. No any additional immobilisation was applied.
