In this study we presented the case of 48 years old woman who underwent surgery in the hospital in Poznań because of familial adenomatous polyposis. The disease was diagnosed in 1995, but then due to the fear of the surgery the patient did not consent to have an operation. We emphasized how it is important to motivate patients and explain them the need of surgical treatment in familial adenomatous polyposis.
