Endogenous retroviruses and MS: using ERVs as disease markers

Human endogenous retroviruses (ERVs) may play a role in multiple sclerosis (MS) pathogenesis. Specific ERV patterns, like HRES-1, show unique characteristics in MS patients, suggesting a potential link to the disease.
