Background:

  • Poststroke dementia (PSD) is a significant complication following ischemic stroke.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To prospectively determine the frequency and clinical determinants of poststroke dementia (PSD) in a cohort of consecutive ischemic stroke inpatients in southern Taiwan.

  • A prospective cohort study involving 283 ischemic stroke patients assessed at admission and 3 months post-stroke.
  • Standardized clinical, neurological, neurobehavioral, functional, and neuroimaging assessments were performed.
