Background:

Laparoscopy is widely used but underutilized in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis.
This study investigates the indications and outcomes of laparoscopic procedures in this patient group.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopy in diagnosing and managing peritoneal dialysis-related complications.
To analyze the clinical effects and outcomes of laparoscopic interventions.

Main Methods:

Retrospective analysis of 18 laparoscopic procedures in 198 long-term peritoneal dialysis patients (May 1992-June 2002).
Review of clinical and demographic parameters, indications, findings, operative details, and outcomes.
