Major risk factors as antecedents of fatal and nonfatal coronary heart disease events

Most coronary heart disease (CHD) patients have major risk factors like high cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, or smoking. This study confirms that CHD events are rarely seen in individuals without prior exposure to at least one major risk factor.
