Background:

Adjustable sutures in strabismus surgery have traditionally been reserved for complex cases.
Limited data exists on their efficacy as a routine procedure.

Purpose of the Study:

To analyze the efficacy of adjustable sutures in routine strabismus surgery.
To assess patient satisfaction and factors influencing surgical outcomes.

Main Methods:

A clinical study involving 443 patients undergoing strabismus surgery (141 adjustable, 302 non-adjustable).
Follow-up ranged from 12 to 50 months.
Outcomes measured included reoperation rates, patient satisfaction, and angle of deviation changes.

The adjustable suture group had a significantly lower reoperation rate (8.51% vs. 27.15%).
