[Physical developmental features in Magadan children and adolescents]
Abstract:
The age-related time course of changes in the anthropometric parameters was studied in children and adolescents aged 11-16 years who lived in Magadan. There were no great differences in the basic overall body measurements between the boys who were and not going in for sport. Among the adolescents, individuals who had a weak constitution were found to be predominant. Harmonic development was observed in 78.0-83.9% of the children and adolescents who were going in for sport and in 69.7-82.4% of those who were not. The proportion of boys who were dysharmonically developed was higher among those who were not going in for sport. Physical malformations were mainly associated with body mass deficit.
