Summary

Bacterial leakage in root canals is a concern. This study found that while all tested obturation techniques and sealers allowed some bacterial migration, the MicroSeal technique with Ketac-Endo sealer showed the slowest rate.

Background:

  • Bacterial leakage in sealed root canals is a significant clinical issue, potentially leading to treatment failure.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate bacterial migration through root canals sealed with different obturation techniques and sealers.

  • 144 extracted human mandibular anterior teeth were prepared and divided into two groups (lateral compaction vs. thermomechanical compaction) with five different sealers each.
