Abstract:
In the textile processing industry (TPI) inevitable highly loaded organic and/or high colored concentrates arise. A simple way to reduce the freight in the wastewater is to collect and treat these concentrates separately. An almost complete decolorization of many dyes and a digestion of substances, that are refractory under aerobic conditions, can be obtained under anaerobic conditions. Therefore the co-fermentation is an opportune procedure to dispose the concentrates of the TPI in view of ecological, economical, and procedural benefits.
