Summary

Female athletes' exercise performance is generally unaffected by menstrual cycle hormone fluctuations, especially in strength and intense aerobic/anaerobic sports. However, prolonged exercise in heat may be negatively impacted during the mid-luteal phase due to elevated body temperature.
