Abstract:
Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigotes treated with phosphomolybdic acid and the photographic developer Rodinal display bright kinetoplasts when unmounted smears are observed using low-magnification phase-contrast objectives. This simple method enables the rapid and accurate identification of kinetoplasts in trypanosomes.
