Superior cervical ganglionectomy in rabbits caused a significant decrease in intraocular pressure (IOP). Norepinephrine in aqueous humor did not increase, but cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels did, suggesting cAMP-mediated pathways influence IOP.
