Abstract:
The resolution of the Triscan (Biophysic Medical) and the Cooper-Alcon 2000 equipments proved sufficient for depicting three separate curvilinear echostructures from the back of the eye. The anatomical counterparts are the inner limiting membrane of the retina, the pigment epithelium, and the inner surface of the sclera. Imaging will be impeded due to sound dispersion if the sound beam is directed through the lens, or via the cornea and the pars plicata of the ciliary body, respectively. The potential of the method is discussed.
