Background:

Acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis (AHC) is a contagious eye infection.
Enteroviruses are a common cause of viral conjunctivitis worldwide.
Previous cases of AHC with confirmed Coxsackie A24 etiology were not documented in the described region.

Observation:

Two patients presented with acute hemorrhagic keratoconjunctivitis.
Symptoms included transient iritic irritation.
No systemic symptoms were reported in either case.

Findings:

Serological examination identified enterovirus Coxsackie A24 as the etiological agent.
The virus was imported from Nigeria.
This marks the first documented diagnosis of enterovirus-confirmed AHC in the country.

Implications:

Highlights the emergence of specific viral pathogens in new geographic areas.
Underscores the importance of virological investigations for anterior segment inflammations.
Suggests potential for increased incidence of AHC and the need for preparedness.
