[Changes in the hormonal balance and erythropoiesis following neurosurgical operations]

The work analyses the relationship between hormonal disorders in the postoperative period and the dynamics of postoperative anemias in patients who were operated on for brain tumors of various localization. It was found that hormonal changes have an effect on the process of hematopoiesis manifested by inhibition of erythroid differentiation in the bone marrow. The principal role in this case belongs to hypercortisolemia which is intensified by postoperative hormone therapy.
