Effectiveness of organo-phosphorus insecticides against houseflies and mosquitos

The paper describes the research being undertaken on organo-phosphorus insecticides for the control of houseflies and mosquitos. The information obtained from laboratory and field tests indicates that these insecticides are at present effective substitutes for DDT and other chlorinated-hydrocarbon insecticides for use against resistant houseflies and culicine mosquitos, but the residual applications are not as long lasting as those of DDT and therefore will probably not be as efficient in anopheline control.
