[Studies with the macrophage migration inhibition test in patients with rheumatoid arthritis]
Abstract:
The authors intended to investigate whether lymphokinins can be verified in rheumatoid arthritis, and if so - to what extent. They used the macrophage-migrations-inhibition test (MMIT). The validity of the experimental model was therefore tested in patients with tuberculosis. In 97 examinations with 76 exactly defined R.A.-patients no significant migrationsinhibitions were present, apart from single findings. Various synovialis extracts and R.A.-synovia were used. The experimental conditions were varied up to a maximum factor of 8. The results obtained were discussed from the point of view of methodical accuracy, unsatisfactory preparation of antigens and possible double inhibition effects.
