[Pollicization of the index finger in posttraumatic thumb defects]

Four patients with pollicization of the index finger were presented. In 3 cases of subtotal amputation the results were rated as excellent or good. Good blood supply, innervation and movement in transferred index finger indicate safety and reliability of this procedure.
