Plasmapheresis for severe, unremitting, chronic urticaria

Histamine-releasing autoantibodies in chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) patients were targeted with plasmapheresis. This treatment offered significant symptom relief in some, suggesting autoantibodies play a key role in CIU pathogenesis.
